In the fair land of publishing, there is a legend that December is the slowest month of the year. Often, I’d agree. But not this year. And I’ve heard the same from many colleagues. In this week alone, among other things, I’ve signed a new client, sold 2 novels, and done a foreign translation deal, as well as read roughly 120 queries. I sent my last batch of replies out this morning and it’s unlikely I’ll be doing more between now and the New Year. Just a few minutes ago I finished reviewing a contract, and now it seems to be time to finish preparations for the holiday (cranberry-apple chutney, yum), and decide which client manuscripts — and already published books by not-clients! — I’m reading while DMLA is officially closed from December 24-28.
Wishing you all the best of the Season and a Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas, Best Agent. 🙂
And a Happy New Year!
Happy Festivities!
Aw, the cranberry-apple link is broken…
(and happy Christmas anyway, for you seem to agent half my friends…)
Fixed it. 🙂
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Jennifer—and everyone! :*)
