This is my 4th new client this year.

She has a genre in common with one of the other new clients but it looks like the only thing that all of them share (besides hooking me) is that all 4 of their first names start with the K/hard-C sound. I’m pretty sure that’s just a coincidence, though.
See here and here for earlier ruminations on that. As per those entries, I can report that this client came via query. I had read an earlier proposal of a different book (looks like it was about 3 years ago(!) and I had invited her to submit a revision or new project — I’m glad she did). She has short story credits. She doesn’t live in a coastal state (like the other 3). And I love her story and characters. And her imagination (“cars” that run on bugs!).

Congratulations to both you and Ms. Hurley! It’s a good match, she’s a damn fine writer and you’re a damn fine agent.
I read Gods War in draft form and just loved it. She is one hell of a writer. Good job! 🙂
